Peter Pan – appearing in our imagination

There have been several characters and cartoons gaining special place in the hearts of children. It might be the beauty in the stories that helped them to get unique place in their hearts. At the same time, a few of them entered into their dreams with the help of their interesting appearance. Peter pan, the mischievous boy is one of such characters.

When you think about Peter pan, you might have felt that it is the theme behind the story that caught your attention. A little boy, who never shows willingness to grow up and simply ponder around flying, easily became someone so closer and special to you. When the child started recognizing himself as the leader of the lost boys in Neverland, we became his strong fans.

We have always observed that there is no written description to the appearance of Peter Pan. Have we ever though then how is this little boy waving through our minds and in our thoughts. The creator Barrie has always left this to our imagination and we can give any ideas according to our creativity of a cute little boy. The only basic description is a beautiful boy spreading beautiful smile always.

The boy is clad in skeleton leaves along with the tree juices. The play portrayed his outfit as autumn leaves and cobwebs. When an adult woman played Peter’s role on the stage, we clearly had no idea than our imagination on the looks of the boy. Later when Peter Pan became popular through the stories and plays, his appearance got new models from authors. There has been descriptions as beautiful as giving him blue eyes and light hair.

His outfit also changed accordingly and he started wearing a jay feather tunic when he moved to autumn. He replaced his summertime garb with maple leaves. Another story pictures him in carrot-orange hair and eyes that are as bright as blue.

The Disney movies gave him a special look that is easy to be animated. He wore a short sleeved tunic that is green in color with tights. These outfits appear to be made of cloth and he uses a feathered cap along with it. Disney’s Peter Pan has ears that are like elf and hair that is organish brown in color. It might have surprised him when he appeared in blond hair that is brown in color and green eyes with dress made of leaves and vines.

There is another Peter who is grown up and has hair color as dark brown. The story takes you to his childhood where he is created in the form of a youth with orangish hairs. The story gives pointed ears to Peter Pan and his clothing is similar to that in Disney stories.

Whatever be the appearance of Peter Pan, he successfully entered the lives of people of all age groups. It is this popularity that resulted in the introduction of a large number of stories and animations featuring Peter Pan. He is in our minds according to our imaginative power.
